The BP electrical authorization training is intended for non-electrician professionals who perform basic operations on Low Voltage photovoltaic installations, such as installation, connections (only with IP2X connectors), maintenance, or cleaning.

At the end of the BP Photovoltaic training, trainees will master the safety requirements of the NFC 18-510 standard to perform these operations, including:

  • Handle modules and connect them
  • Change connectors
  • Apply safety measures in case of insulation deterioration on the Photovoltaic chain
  • Check and use personal protective equipment

Objectives of the BP Electrical Authorization Training

  • Install photovoltaic panels on pluggable connectors and maintain them in compliance with the safety requirements of standard NF C18-510.
  • Enable the employer to issue a BP Photovoltaic electrical authorization certificate.

FAQ BP Electrical Authorization Training

What are the Limits of BP Electrical Authorization?

The PV chain Elementary Intervention Manager is limited to the assembly and disassembly of pluggable connectors (no handling of fixed or screwed connectors) and the handling and connection of PV modules. For module maintenance, they act only as an executor, under the supervision of a General Intervention Manager. They are strictly forbidden from connecting the PV installation to a junction box, intervening on stationary batteries, and performing any electrical operation on the electrical installation outside the PV chain.

I Need to Perform Interventions outside the Limits of BP, What Authorization should I Consider?

If your interventions exceed the scope of BP, you will generally need to consider an electrician-level electrical authorization. The BR PV electrical authorization will allow all electrical operations on the Photovoltaic chain and connection of the installation to the electrical grid. It may be necessary to supplement this authorization with B2V BC levels if electrical work and lockouts are required on the electrical installation outside the PV chain. These authorizations, intended for electricians, require electrical skills.

What is the Validity Period of BP Electrical Authorization?

In accordance with the requirements of standard NFC 18-510, the validity period of the authorization is 3 years. A refresher training must be completed before this deadline. The duration of the refresher training is 7 hours.

I Want to Organize a BP Training at My Premises, What Equipment is Needed?

You must have a room capable of accommodating trainees and the trainer. If you have a photovoltaic installation available, practical training can be carried out on it, or we can provide a mobile technical platform (depends on geographical areas, please consult us).

Our teams are available to answer all your questions!
