The H1 H1V H2 H2V H2V Test HC electrical authorization training is intended for electricians who perform work, interventions, and lockouts on High Voltage A electrical installations or structures (voltage up to 50,000 volts in alternating current). This training covers the needs of Workers (H1 H1V), Work Supervisors (H2 H2V), and Lockout Supervisors (HC)
At the end of the H1V H2V HC authorization training, participants will be able to operate on de-energized or near High Voltage installations and structures, respecting the prevention measures recommended by standard NF C18-510, including:
- Identify, delimit, and monitor work areas
- Verify and use personal protective equipment
- Intervene safely in reinforced High Voltage proximity zones
- Lock out an electrical installation in one or two steps
- Draft necessary documents for work or lockout
- Perform tests, measurements, and verifications as part of the work
Objectives of H1v H2v BC Authorization Training
- Supervise or perform work and lockouts on High Voltage electrical installations, respecting the prevention measures recommended by standard NF C18-510.
- Enable the employer to issue an H1 H1V and/or H2 H2V H2V Test and/or HC electrical authorization certificate

Audience & Prerequisites
- Examples of concerned professionals: Team leader / electrical site manager / maintenance technician (H2 H2V), lockout supervisor (HC), electrician (H1 H1V)
- Participation in the H1V H2V HC electrical authorization training is for qualified HTA electricians with training and experience in this voltage domain.
How to Train?

- On your sites (in-company): thanks to our network of 60 locally based trainers throughout France, we can train your teams in High Voltage electrical authorizations at your premises across the country.
- In Blended Learning format: a training that combines an E-Learning part and a one-day (7 hours) practical face-to-face training with one of our trainers. The ideal format to minimize the demobilization of your teams.

Training Program

H1 H2 HC Electrical Authorization Theoretical Training
- The regulatory context and standard NFC 18510
- The risks of electric current (direct / indirect contact, arcing, short circuit) and its effects on the human body (electrocution, electric shock, burns, falls, etc.) and equipment (fires)
- Names and limits of voltage domains, equipment related to structures or installations
- General principles of prevention and protection and risk assessment
- Implementation of appropriate equipment and tools: function and use
- Actions to take in case of an electrical accident
- Collective protective equipment (CPE) and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Apparatus functions, use of plans and diagrams.
- Environmental Zones and Approach Distances
- The structure and operating principle of electrical installations or structures (line and substation). Differentiate types of substations
- Functions of electrical equipment in substations (functions: controls, separations, protections)
- Principles of induction and capacitive coupling and associated risks
- Locking and inter-locking principles for relevant equipment
- Responsibilities and limits of each electrical authorization level: H1 H1V Worker, H2 H2V Work Supervisor, HC Lockout Supervisor
- Theoretical evaluation: H1 H1V H2 H2V HC knowledge validation MCQ
Practical Electrical Authorization Training H1 H2 HC
- Analyze the electrical environment in which one operates (live work / de-energized work, proximity to live bare parts…)
- Draft necessary documents for work and lockouts (lockout certificate, work authorization, work completion notice)
- Delimit and mark a work area
- Install collective protective equipment (CPE)
- Lay an insulating mat
- Perform de-energized work with or without the presence of live bare parts
- Perform a lockout in one or two steps, then de-lockout
- Practical evaluation: practical scenario adapted to H1 H2 HC levels proposed by the trainer

FAQ Electrical Authorizations H1 H1v H2 H2v HC
What is the Meaning of the Letter V on H1v and H2v Electrical Authorizations?
The V index on H1V and H2V authorizations indicates that the authorization holder can work in a reinforced High Voltage proximity zone (Zone 2, located from 60cm to 2m from a live bare part up to 30kV). In this zone, it is necessary to be equipped with personal protective equipment adapted to the voltages encountered. For more information on zones, you can consult this detailed article.
Do H1 H2 HC Electrical Authorizations Cover B1 B2 BC Authorizations?
No, High Voltage electrical authorizations do not “de facto” cover Low Voltage authorizations: it must be explicitly stated on your authorization certificate that you are authorized B1 H1 B2 H2 BC BC. Don’t panic, you won’t have to do 2 trainings; you can be trained in LV authorizations during your HV authorization training. You must remember to specify this to your training organization.
What is the Difference between H1 and H2 Authorizations?
The H1 electrical authorization concerns electricians who perform tasks and must be supervised by an H2 authorized work supervisor. The H2 work supervisor can supervise a team of H1 electricians or work independently.
I Work on Low Voltage Panels in Electrical Rooms with HV Cells and Transformers; Do I Need H1 H2 HC Authorization?
If you do not directly intervene on High Voltage installations, you do not need H1 H2 HC authorizations. You will simply need to supplement your Low Voltage authorizations with H0 H0V authorization, which allows entry into an HV electrical room in a reinforced HV proximity zone.
