The BE Testing electrical qualification training is intended for professionals who work on testing platforms and in laboratories (dielectric, insulation, continuity tests, etc.) on Low Voltage electrical installations (voltage below 1kV in alternating current and 1.5kV in direct current).

At the end of the training, trainees will be able to perform tests by applying the safety measures recommended by standard NFC 18-510, including: respecting approach distances and environmental zones, delimiting work zones, checking and using PPE, locking out an installation, performing tests, measurements, and verifications in the presence of bare live parts.

Objectives of the BE Testing Training

  • Perform tests on Low Voltage electrical installations (voltage below 1kV in alternating current and 1.5kV in direct current) while respecting the prevention measures recommended by standard NF C18-510.
  • Enable the employer to issue a BE Testing electrical qualification certificate.

BE Testing Qualification FAQ

What is the Validity Period of the BE Testing Electrical Qualification?

Standard NF C18-510 recommends renewing the BE testing electrical qualification every 3 years. The recommended duration for refresher training is 10.5 hours.

I Am B2v Testing BR Qualified, in What Cases Do I Need to Obtain the BE Testing Qualification?

B2V BR qualifications authorize you to perform tests as part of electrical work and general interventions. The BE Testing qualification will only be necessary if you need to perform them on specific testing platforms or in a laboratory.

What PPE is Recommended for a BE Testing Qualified Person?

To be able to intervene in Zone 4 (reinforced Low Voltage proximity zone, less than 30 cm from a bare live part), you will need at least Class 0 insulating gloves (standard NF EN 60903) and a face shield with R05 index 8 marking (standard NF EN 166). Depending on your testing protocols, additional PPE may be required.

Is Knowledge in Instrumentation or Electrical Measurements Necessary?

Yes. Testing often involves the use of specific measuring devices (equipment controllers, oscilloscope, clamp meter, etc.) in complex contexts (test benches, live systems, sensitive components). The training does not teach the detailed operation of each instrument, but assumes that the learner already knows how to handle them.

What Qualifications are “Covered” by the BE Testing Qualification?

The BE Testing electrical qualification covers the BE Verifications and BE Measurements qualifications.

Can I Finance the BE Testing Training with My Personal Training Account (CPF)?

No. The BE Testing electrical qualification has been deactivated from the Specific Register by France Compétences since 2021-12-31: you can consult it here. The training is therefore no longer covered by the CPF.
