The B0L authorization training is intended for non-electrician professionals, operators or repair managers, who perform non-electrical operations on or near electric/hybrid vehicles or electric-powered machinery (forklifts, etc.).
At the end of the training, participants will be able to apply all safety measures imposed by standard NF C18-550 during non-electrical interventions on electric or hybrid vehicles.
B0l Training Objectives
- Understand the risks associated with non-electrical interventions on electric or hybrid vehicles.
- Intervene safely for non-electrical maintenance work on electric-powered vehicles or machinery.
- Enable the employer to issue a B0L electrical authorization certificate.

FAQ B0l Electric Vehicle Authorization
What is the Difference between a B0l Operator and a B0l Repair Manager?
The main difference lies in the level of responsibility: the Repair Manager organizes, supervises, and ensures safety (organization of the work area, etc.) of a non-electrical operation. The Operator, as the name suggests ;), performs operations under the responsibility of the Repair Manager and is not authorized to supervise personnel. To give a concrete example, a workshop manager could be authorized as a B0L Repair Manager, and their mechanics authorized as B0L Operators.
How is the B0l Electrical Authorization Evaluated?
The trainer will evaluate you to issue a favorable opinion: a multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ) to verify that you have acquired the theoretical knowledge from the training, followed by a practical case to ensure that you master the necessary skills. The theoretical questionnaire consists of 20 questions, on which you must have at least 14 correct answers. During the practical scenario, you must not make any eliminating errors (obvious danger).
What is the Validity Period of B0l Authorization?
As with “classic” electrical authorizations, standard NF C18-550 recommends renewal every 3 years. You will need to attend a B0L refresher training that lasts one day. This training will be an opportunity to update your knowledge on regulations and to “refresh” your safety knowledge.
What Document Do You Receive at the End of the Training?
At the end of your B0L training, we will provide you with a Post-Training Opinion, which will be either favorable or unfavorable. Based on this, and after ensuring that you have the technical skills and aptitudes for the position entrusted to you, your employer will issue you a B0L authorization certificate.
